Being a carer is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting 💛

And just like that, it's October! This month, I'm talking about Carers. Those people who pick up the slack while a loved one is unable to care for themself. It's described as lonely, exhausting, isolating and maybe overwhelming - and yet it is done with love.

When we fly, the safety briefing clearly tells us that we must put our own breathing mask on before helping others. I love this analogy for carers. Clients who are carers describe their feelings and I can see the overwhelm they are experiencing.

We work to help them rediscover the special moments is their day. These become hard to see when we are overwhelmed, but they are always there. We also focus on optimising their sleep, and on small steps that they can take to make life better.

If yu'd like to find out more, please get in touch https://www.hypnotherapyforhealing.co.uk/get-in-touch .

If hypnotherapy isn't for you right now, hopefully I can still offer some advice to help. Keep watching.

I'm also going to provide a link to NHS guidance about the importance of taking a break:
