I'm pleased to have found this quote because I'm currently slow-cooking a big batch of red pepper and tomato soup.
When we have the winter blues, it's important to find the things that give comfort. One of mine is making soup, but I also like a comfy jumper and a warming cappuccino. Here are 5 tips to help support your mood
Tip 1. Seek Out Natural Light ☀️
Daylight plays a huge role in regulating our sleep and mood.
Try to spend a little time outside each morning, even on cloudy days.
A short walk or even sitting by a bright window can help your body clock stay in balance.
Tip 2. Keep Moving 🏃♀️
Exercise boosts endorphins — those “feel-good” chemicals that help lift
your mood.
You don’t need to commit to long gym sessions; even gentle stretching, yoga,
or a brisk 10-minute walk can make a noticeable difference.
Tip 3. Stay Connected 💬
It can be tempting to withdraw when energy is low, but staying socially connected is
vital for wellbeing.
Schedule a catch-up with a friend, join a group, or simply check in with
someone you trust.
Connection helps us feel supported and less alone.
Tip 4. Prioritise Sleep 😴
Dark mornings and evenings can disrupt sleep routines.
Aim for regular sleep and wake times, reduce screen time before bed,
and create a calming bedtime routine.
Restful sleep makes it easier to cope with the challenges of the season.
Tip 5. Practise Relaxation 🌿
Finding moments of calm can reduce stress and promote a more
positive mindset.
Deep breathing, meditation, or trance through hypnotherapy can help you feel more grounded and resilient.
